Oh hey, Week 8

It's been a busy month (year? decade?) in my world. My kids have a funny way of doing approximately 100 things all at the same time as each other but in different places. I love this lucky life I lead and adore watching my kids do their thing be it cross country or soccer or gymnastics or art class or baseball or now basketball season. But whew, this lifestyle we created keeps us on our toes.  We have rankings, we have start/sit lists so let's get after it.   The FantasyPros.com's Week 8 Primer is always a good launching place and I want to highlight Pat Fitzmaurice's rankings since he's my go-to when in doubt.  5th Down Fantasy's Week 8 fantasy football rankings Numberfire's Week 8 fantasy football player rankings CBS.com's Week 8 Start'Em & Sit 'Em: Wide Receivers S tart 'Em, Sit 'Em Week 8: Defenses from NFL.com Fabiano's Start 'Em, Sit 'Em on SI or Week 8 Rankings The Athletic's Fantasy Football Rankings Week 8

Week 5 Waiver Wire Advice

Our newly 12-year-old son has been asking for an aquarium for a few years now, so over the weekend, we bit the bullet and got him one for his birthday. These things are way more work than I think he (or I?) realized but the main issue we have right now is that we have 3 rascally young cats...and oh, this aquarium is too delightful for them. We found one cat sitting on top of it trying to drink from the open filter sliver and another on his giant back legs peering - and there aren't even any fish in it yet! They'll be ready when the fish arrive; ready to feast.  May you be ready to feast on this week's waiver wire pickings, though honestly I'm not sure there are a ton of juicy contenders on this list. Read below for advice if you're curious about what to make of Zach Wilson or Michael Gallup moving forward, or who to stash for the bye weeks, etc. FantasyNerds.com's Waiver Wire Rankings   ProFootballNetwork's Early Week 5 Waiver Wire Pickups RotoBaller's W

Start/Sit Week 4 and a smattering of rankings

It's been awhile, my fantasy football friends. I have lofty intentions of getting several posts up here each week, but life is busy and I will do my best. So in the intervening 6 years since I've posted regularly on here, our family added another child (now there are 3!), moved back to Boulder for a sabbatical year and then returned to Knoxville, and we have basically been chugging along like many of the rest of you. My two boys (who turn 12 and 9 soon) are in a fantasy football league for the first time this year with their buddies, which ostensibly is the just the dads (and mom!) playing one another of course. But my oldest is taking it super seriously and what kind of Fantasy Football Librarian would I be if I didn't step up my game for him? So I'm back - and am interested in the fantasy landscape - lots of the same awesome sites out there, but many new ones as well. I'll try to incorporate a mix. Please be sure to let me know if my 2006 ways aren't working i

I'm back, baby!

Well, well, well. Funny seeing you again. It has been about 6 years since I've last posted here but I have always held out hope that my life might weave and wend its way back to fantasy football. And here we are. I will do my best to get some top resources your way this season with some regularity. I would love to hear what some of your recent favorite resources have been (if you dare share any secret weapons!), so please shoot me an email or post a comment below. Here's to a great season ahead. Missed you all!

Streaming Defenses - Week 16

Don't know about you all, but in our house this week is just chock full of events, visiting with family, and getting organized for our upcoming time off over the holidays. Lots of scrambling going on around here and attempts to install some sense of gratitude in my boys. What am I grateful for this season? Many things but let's start with Bob. Bob has been my fantasy football rock, coming back week after week to post. Hats off to you, Bob, and thank you for your diligent work and research. So here he is with this year's final streaming defense post.  Well it’s the last week of the Fantasy Football Playoffs in most leagues, and my last post of the season. I hope you all found these posts useful. And if I failed you, you have to murder a lot more experts before you get to me. I myself have had a terrible playoff season. I’m out of all but one of my leagues due to the weird games the last two weeks. Between weather that didn’t materialize to normally consistent players co
